PJ Salvage

Hi there!

Long time no see. Things have been kind of crazy lately. Long stories short, we didn't get the apartment we were looking at, I got sick during our trip to Madrid, two colleagues quit our job (which is quite a lot since we're only five people in the staff) just before the Christmas sales are about to start and I found an education I want to take part that starts by the end of January. It's fair to say my head has been ready to explode for a while now.

Since Christmas is around the corner, at least in the retail businesses, we get a lot of news to the store at the moment. A brand new brand for us is PJ Salvage, that makes adorable PJ's. Cats, dogs, owls, elephants, cookies & milk. They all look lovely! And one of the best parts is that it's delivered in a pizza box! Who can not fall for that?

Recently we reached a sales goal at work from one of our suppliers, and they were kind enough to let us pick a gift from one of their brands. I had fell in love with the elephant PJ's, so for me the choice was easy. (Even though I did try the other ones as well, just to be really sure. And Oh, Lord it was a good choice! I've pretty much moved in to this lovely piece of clothing. The first thing I do as I get home in the evening is to jump into this one. Maybe I should invest in one more, so that I have one in each of my two homes... And my little fur ball, Max, would like you all to know that it's totally cuddle approved.

On Friday me and M are going to New York! It has been one of my  biggest dreams since I was about 15 years old, and now it's just a few days more until it comes true. Overly excited about that! Hit me with your best trip advises if you've been there!

Outfit of the day

Hi!

It's my time of the year again! Even though I long for every season of the year when it's about to change, I must say I'm defiantly a fall girl. I love when it's a bit chilly outside, and I can stay in for a cup of tea and light candles, or dress up in a scarf and jacket and go outside for a walk without getting to warm. And when it comes to clothes this is also my time of the year. Our store is quite cold, so the whole summer I've had to put clothes on when I get in, and take it off when I go out. Now it's the other way around, as it's supposed to be. The colours now are more my cup of tea as well.

When I was sick last week I treated myself to internet shopping and a new dress for the season to come. It arrived the other day, and I found it to be perfect with the new tights from work. I also got to use one of my favorite nail polishes, that has been a bit to dark for summer.

Outfit of the night

So, I've changed from my lovely dress that I wore at work (which I forgot to take photos of this morning, but don't worry, I'll wear it again) to pajamas! If you read my Liebster award post you might remember that I especially have a huge love for pajama pants. I'm now sitting here in my amazingly comfortable outfit waiting for the #bloggerschat to start on Twitter. I really enjoyed the chats last night, so when I found out there is another one tonight I really wanted to join. I really should be going to bed, but as long as I'm prepared and just can crawl down under the covers afterwards it's okay.

Since I love my pj's so much and my outfits posts are among my most read,  I thought, why not show you what I'm wearing tonight?

Robe and pants are from Ralph Lauren. The robe has been in my possession for a year now, and the pants were a Christmas gift to me from my dog. (He's amazing at buying me gifts. I always get EXACTLY what I want!) The shirt is from Calvin Klein and made in modal, which is an amazing fabric for sleepwear. It's so incredible soft! Last of all I'm wearing my fluffy slippers. It has become quite cold again, and not very spring like, so I need to warm my feet up.

Hope to see you in the chat soon, or maybe hear a word from you if you found my blog through the chat?

Take care!

Patterns and colours

Soon time to go to work. I only work three hours, which is quite nice. Almost the whole day to do something else, and get double payed since it's Sunday so it does some difference on the pay check. Think I might drag my mother to a furniture shop after work. I want to buy another shoe shelf and maybe a drawer to organize my makeup a bit better. We'll see about that.

Today I go for a simple black outfit, matching it with patterned tights and bright orange nails. The tights are from Twilfit (not from this season, but we do have quite similar now as well so they will work). the Nail polish is from Xantier, one of the brands I found in Thailand. The ring was a Christmas gift (maybe 2012) from my sister, so I don't know where it's from.

Enjoy the day and I might be back tonight!

New in - Shoes

I had a short day at work the other day, so my mother and sister came to the shopping center where I work for a little shopping spree, with the main goal to find birthday presents to my dad. I ended up buying nothing to him and few things for myself. (Don't worry, I gave him a homemade gift card for a concert so it wasn't an empty handed birthday.)

Since I've been working quite a lot this week, and will run of to work again soon, I haven't had time to take pictures of everything yet, so I'll just split it up into more than one post.

Today I want to show you a pair of shoes I found. I mostly just wear black shoes (if it's not converse), but I've been walking past this for a few days now and haven't been able to get them of my mind. Not only that I think they look gorgeous by themselves, just look how great they look with the bag I got in Thailand!

I found the shoes in the Swedish shoe store Din Sko (which means Your Shoe). They were on sale for 199 SEK (about $31 or £19). Very good price if you ask me!

Outfit of the day - Black and White

About to run of to work in a few minutes, but I thought I'd have time for an Outfit of the day post. Tonight (or maybe tomorrow, since I might be too tired after working closing hours) I'll be doing the Liebster award that I was nominated to. It made my day to wake up to that!

Dress was a Supermarket find in Thailand. One of my
absolute favorites. Cardigan from Primark. 40 den leggings

Shoes from Thailand. Really love the fact that I found a pair of ballerinas
that works for my thin, but long, feet!

Ring from Topshop. Favorite accessory at the moment.

As always, my beloved bracelets. If you like them you have the chance
to get your own in my giveaway here.

Outfit of the day

New week, new possibilities. I'm pretty sure this week will be better than the last. Our friend woke up this Saturday, an even if there's lot of rehab left at least he's alive and awake. For me, this week will bring a lot of work (only one day free) and my father's birthday is coming up. Still trying to figure out what to give him.

Making another outfit of the day post today. Not wearing a skirt to work today. That's not happening very often!
At work they are trying to sell more casual clothing (before we just sold nightwear and underwear) so we got some really nice pants. They are perfect to just walk around at home, but with a nice blouse they look great for work as well. I used them this weekend, and I sold a few of them by wearing them a bit more dressed up.

Today I'm wearing them with a top from Primark. I bought it a few years ago, and that year I traveled quite a lot, so I've been trying to figure out where I got it. After a while of thinking I decided it must have been in Dublin.
For a bit more luxurious touch I'm wearing a necklace from Topshop. Really love this one!

Don't forget to join my giveaway!

Details of the day

I didn't have time to clean the mirror this morning, and the sun really shows the lack of cleaning, and I didn't have anyone to help me take pictures of today's outfit. Blogging is one of those small things in life  that I really enjoy, so I couldn't not make a post for today. The details of an outfit is also quite important to me, so for today that's what the post will be about today.

For my friend at the hospital things are looking even better today, and they are slowly preparing to wake him up. Keep your fingers crossed for him  for a few more  days until we know for sure everything is all right!

Let's get back to those details.

  • New season leo tights from work (Twilfit)
  • Nail polish from Calvin Klein (71302 Sheer sparkle)
  • Ring inherited from my Grandmother
  • Shamballa style bracelets (Home made)
  • Bling stud earrings from Primark

February favorites

Time for the February favorite of the day. It might seem boring and dull, but I can't do my favorites without this one. It's my beloved H&M skirt. I've worn it almost every day this month (Do not worry, I have more than one of this so I do have time to wash it).

Since I usually want to show off tights that we sell at work it's great with a plain skirt that works with everything. I also like that it's very comfortable and that I can move around in it without any trouble. Let's just say some skirts are not made for climbing ladders. With this one that's not an issue.

So here we go, my boring but very much loved, skirt;

Tights

A lot of our costumers need help when they come to the hosiery department. It's sort of a jungle when you get there. A good example is the men that comes in ad says "My wife asked me to buy a pair of black tights." A pair of black tights isn't just a pair of black tights. Do you want sheer tights or a lot of coverage or maybe some of the fifty-eleven types in between? Glossy, or not glossy? With shaping or without shaping? High waist or low waist?

I thought I should share some of my thoughts with you. Like the thumb rules I use myself.

I used to be a jeans, and jeans only, girl, but now I wear skirts almost every day. I started with simple black ones, but as time went by I got a little more brave, and now I happily wear colors and patterns. This is one of  the reasons I like my H&M skirt so much. It's very simple, which doesn't make it to messy with patterned tights.

If I wear a lace skirt, or my patterned dresses, I try to stick with just plain colored tights. I know some people are really good at mixing patterns with patterns, but that's just not for me. If I'm wearing bright colors or a lot of black I like to use dark gray tights, or the color called Nearly black. This makes the look a little bit softer, and for the black clothes it brightens it up.

For party I usually go for 15-40 den with a shiny finish. Falke, a German brand, is my favorites for this since they don't ladder. If you get stuck in something there might get a small hole, but the whole tights isn't destroyed so you are most likely to survive the night without an extra pair. A pair of 15 den tights even survived my sequin dress! And I can use them again!

For work or everyday use I prefer 50-120 den, 40 if I wear a more fancy dress. I like more coverage at theses times, and they are usually more solid. Also our store is quite cold so it's nice to wear something a little thicker.

I rarely choose shaping tights. If I wear a tight dress where I think it's needed I much rather go for controlling panties, like Spanx. This is because they give a better effect and it doesn't make me limited in my choice of hosiery.

Outfit of the day

The outfit of  the day posts seems quite popular. Both post have sailed up to the top on the view list. So, here we go again!

Today I'm wearing a lace skirt from JC, a golden tank top from Gina Tricot. That top can be the oldest garment in my closet, but after 8 years (I think. I know I wore it on a school photo) I still love it, so it will hang on for a while longer. The cardigan is from Primark, and one of the most used garment in the closet. Tights 120 den. Necklace from Topshop (check out the OOTD-post from yesterday for a closeup)

Now; Time to run of to work!

Outfit of the day

Before I run of to take the bus to that meeting, I thought I'd show today's outfit.

Today I'm wearing a fine knitted sweater from Primark. I have never been a fan of red, but I really fell for the wine shade. The skirt is my very much used from H&M. It just works to everything. The tights I bought at work this fall, and they are not in store anymore. Ring and necklace is from Topshop and the bracelets I made myself. I will share a post about the nail polish tomorrow.

(Watching these photos I notice someone should clean their mirror)

Hanro

The meeting today was about Hanro. I had never heard of them before, and must admit I was quite skeptic when I just looked at the boxes and saw the price. That opinion changed quickly when I learned more about it and had a close look at the garments. It's an old brand, that's very successful in other parts of Europe and in USA. In Sweden it's quite unknown and we just found out we're the only ones in this part of the country that's selling them. (Hopefully that will change if we do a good job with it)

We got to see a video from one of the factories where the garments are made, and it was amazing! I didn't know that kind of places still exist. A lot of things are done by hand, like cutting the fabric, make sure there isn't any flaws in the fabric and sit by a sewing machine to do some very fine work. I also appreciates that everything is produced in Switzerland or Portugal, which means I know for sure that the condition for the workers are really good.

The materials are very exclusive, like Egyptian cotton and mercerized cotton. And the fact that they use viscose, instead of polyamide, in the petticoat is perfect since that doesn't create any static electricity between the garments.

With all this new knowledge I will be happy to sell the products, because I really believe in them myself. Will be trying this Cotton Seamless tank top first, but I believe my closet will expand with a few more Hanro garments in the near future.

Outfit of the day

Hey there!

Productive day so far. Meeting at work in the morning (will tell you more about this tonight), got home and took a PW, cleaned all my makeup brushes and now I'm waiting for my lunch to get ready before I need to go back to work for the night shift. Amazed I even have time for blogging! Guess this is what happens when you learn to get up early in the morning.

Thought I would show you my outfit of the day, which I like quite a lot. Sweater from Topshop (the one that I bought the other day), my most used skirt from H&M, 80 den tights from DIM (new brand in our store that I'm getting to know). Love the red nails to ad a touch of colour.

Favorites!

I used to be quite comfortable in high heels, but unfortunately that has changed. I'm working on changing that now, so I put a pair of heels at work so I can walk around in them for at least a few hours everyday. The goal is to be able to wear a nice pair of high heels at my friend's wedding in the end of June.

The biggest reason I don't trip around in my old beauties is that I discovered Converse. It was about nine years ago when I started a new school and chose to be in a music class that these shoes came to my attention. They were very popular (I think everyone in my class owned a pair, most of them didn't use anything else). It wasn't a choice for me not to try them. Once I did I was hooked. I have quite a few different colours and patterns by now. Not sure yet if the collection will grow this season though. That depends on how my high heel-project end up.

Last year's addition to the collection

Good morning!

So yesterday was a busy day. Went up quite early, called the insurance company about a bill I got for something I never signed up for. Apparently I got a letter a few month ago telling me to contact them if I wasn't interested in the offer. I don't really like when they do it that way. If I AM interested, then I'll contact them. That's how I think it should work. They cancelled it and promised I didn't have to pay, so that's over now.

As soon as that was done I went to meet my best friend one last time before we both go on our trips and adventures. She will be working as a show artist for a travelling company, so she will be abroad for a few months (we don't know where yet). I know time will run away and it won't seem that long, but it's always a bit sad when you know for sure you won't see each other for a while. Hopefully I will be able to visit her for a few days later on. Keep your fingers crossed!

When we had had our lunch it was time for me to go to work for a few hours. I came to a really messy store and two colleagues that was recovering from some panic. New week and new month means a lot of work, and on top of that we had huge deliveries! I'm going in a few hours earlier today to help get everything straighten up.

Today will bring work, and hopefully I will get a few things done for the trip. One of my colleagues were kind enough to switch time with me tomorrow so I will get home a few hours earlier to do all the last minute things.

Outfit of the day. Pants from H&M, top from JC.

A parcel from the States

Hi again,

When I got home today there was a parcel waiting for me outside the door. As I may have mentioned in a previous post, I work in a store that sells underwear. It's easy to get your favorites, but in a small country as Sweden the range of products isn't as large as if you give a look to the west. When I found some of my absolute favorites in colors that is not available here, me and my colleagues had to try them out and today they were delivered.

Two of my favorite brands are Calvin Klein and Elle MacPherson Intimates. If you, like me, need a quite small size around the back but a larger cup EMI is top notch. Before I came across EMI i thought that these sizes were only made in practical and basic garments. Now I can get a steady and comfortable bra, with gorgeous designs and other colors than white, black and beige!

Calvin Klein is not to think about if you have a fuller bust, but the Bottoms Up hipsters are to die for. They are very comfy and have no thick seams so there won't be much visible lines under tight pieces of clothing. Not to mention the AWESOME colors, new ones to arrive all the time. The colors I found this time is so me, so I just couldn't leave the page without making sure I  got some in the shopping trolley.

Sister time and me time

Today my plan was to run some errands, so I took my sister by the hand and jumped on a bus into town. I forgot most of the things I was supposed to do, but at least I got an HDMI cable to my camera. Most importantly I got some quality with Fia and we got to eat sushi at one of our favorite places. Such an easy thing to do to make the whole day feel awesome.

Back at home I decided to take some time to myself and have mini-spa. I used some of my favorite products for this. Facial mask from The Body Shop, Macadamia Hair Mask, body scrub from Rituals and bath melt from Lush. Not shown in the picture is my oil therapy skin treatment from Biotherm. When you have the time to spoil yourself a little you probably deserve some snack as well. For me coke, Djungelvrål (also known as "the swedish death candy") and a Swedish chocolate ball was right on what I wanted today.

I hadn't tried this bath melt from Lush before today, but I really liked it. Luckily I bought two, because it was a Christmas special so it's not in store anymore. Will keep the other one for a day when I really feel like glowing. I can promise you my whole body is shimmering in silver!

The other products will most likely get their own posts in the future.

Pamper time

Testing

I've been waiting all night for the battery to get ready. Oh, the joy when the lamp on the charger turned green! No one was up for portrait pictures (me neither). It's been a really lazy day here, so after the walk with the dog I went back into my PJ's.

I've been taking a couple of pictures just to try the camera out. We do have to get to know each other better to learn all the features and how to get the best pictures, but from what I've seen so far I love it. Can't wait to try it in day light, for portraits, filming videos etc.
